1967 Corvette
Al De Bonis brought out his 1967 427 Big Block Corvette for us to record. What a thrill and what a great guy. The day was beautiful at Lime Rock Park. It was about 60 degrees and sunny. We were the first ones on the track for the season and it was plenty green. Traction was hard to find until we put in some hard laps and the sun warmed the race track. Al’s car started it’s life as a street car and remained one until 1969 when it became a race car and was owned and raced by Zack Spratlin of Stone mountian GA. Over the years it was raced in differant series and venues such as VIR, Stuttgart, Sebring, Road Atlanta and more. Al Bought the car in 2003, found the owner who turned it into a race car and documented it’s history. Al now races it at vintage events at Limerock Park, VIR, NHIS, Summit Point and Mount Treblant. Al’s car is prepaired by “Brions, race cars and restoration”
